Wednesday 23rd of February I was invited - as a representative of the ICT4EDC Project - to participate in the National Economic Forum in St. Kitts and Nevis. The National Economic Growth Forum was aimed at identifying possible new areas of economic growth and sustainable development. The one-day event brought together stakeholders from every sector of society with the overarching goal of collectively finding strategies for sustainable and equitable growth and development of the Federation.
The Forum was opened by Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas under the theme, “Transformation is not an event; it is a process.” The Prime Minister mentioned specifically the ICT4EDC Project, which was also presented in folders disseminated at the event. Additionally, the Prime Minister promoted the ongoing sensitisation process, which is presently ongoing. This was helpful as it will assist me in making the case for the project and the ensuing Foundation for the Information Society in St. Kitts and Nevis, IS-SKN.
