Use of national Diaspora in support of ICT4D
At the ICT4D Project we have been discussing the possibility of receiving input from the St. Kitts and Nevis diaspora as a resource for supporting  the use of ICT in the Federation.  Assistance from citizens, who have left their home coutry but still would like to contribute to the nation building efforts back home, has been promtoted in the international discourse on ICT4D.  Lately, however, concerns have also been voiced about overestimating the likely support by nationals abroad - at any rate a strong local network and channels for dialogue should be set up in order to facilitate the interaction between diaspora members and their native state.  One example of a succesful use of input from the diaspora is seen in Jamaica, where the Jamaica Diaspora Board is established.  One of the members of the Jamaica Diaspora Board, CEO at Kaizen Interactive David Mullings, gave this interesting speech "Opportunities through Technology" at the Caribbean Institute of Technology (CIT) in February 2011:  http://bit.ly/f7sx8m
