St. Kitts and Nevis in the International ICT4D Discourse
For a small island state like St. Kitts and Nevis (se map at http://bit.ly/hjAeNc)  it is not easy - however proportionally important - to be included in the international dialogue on ICT4D.  Therefore the ICT4EDC Project is preparing a workshop in St. Kitts and Nevis on E-Government and ICT for Development (ICT4D), lead by UNDP.  UNDP has during the last 10 years been one of the most important drivers of use of new information technologies as tools for economic development. For instance, the document "ICTs and the Millennium Development Goals", was written by Denis Gilhooly from UNDP during the preparation phase for the World Summit on the Information Society in Geneva, which took place in 2003. The paper demonstrates how ICTs can be used for economic development and assist in reaching the MDGs.  The document can be found here: http://bit.ly/dT0hX3.
